So far as I know on the internet, there are several on line Chinese wholesale Lolita companies. They all provide the Lolita clothing in a low price and high quality. The Lolita dresses they provide are really in a fine quality and the best lolita dresses uk only cost you $56, it really worth that money.

2 Second-hand clothes:
One thing that many new people to the fashion over-look is the world of second-hand shopping. If you’ve done any second-hand shopping before you know that when you look in the right places you can find some amazing bargains.
Because Lolita is such classy and expensive hobby you’ll find that most people will treasure their Lolita clothing, and that most second-hand items will be beautiful cared for, and free of imperfections. Usually in auction listings and sales posts if an item does have an imperfection such as a tear, or a stain the seller will usually provide photos and the price of the item will be reduced dramatically. (A great way to buy if you don’t mind the odd tiny stain, have a bleach-pen or are handy with a needle and thread!)
So this wonderful world of second-hand clothing is waiting for you, but where do you go to get it? I tell you that livejournal would be the first place you should go and check the Elegant Gothic Lolita Sales. I am sure there are lots of people willing to share their stuff with you.

3 Sewing your own clothes:

If you’re handy with a sewing machine you may consider making your own clothes. By making something yourself you’re only paying for the cost of the materials to make a piece of clothing, without paying for someone else’s time or shipping, etc. etc. This also allows you the freedom to experiment with your own designs, and use your own fabrics. The Gothic Lolita Bibles are full of craft ideas, and sewing patterns to help lolis who wish to make their own clothing.

Those are all personal advices, if you have some other good ideas, leave me a massage. I would very appreciate it. All for Lolita fashion.

Being Spider Girl: a day at Comic-Con with a master of make-believe

It's the last day of Comic-Con, and Linda Le is sitting in her hotel room in a black body suit and 6-inch heels, delicately scrunching her long black hair into a hairnet as she completes the transformation into Spider Girl, a Marvel Superhero Costumes uk. "It takes me about two hours to get ready," she said. "So from putting my hair into a hairnet — which people don't usually do, but I don't want my wig to fall off on the floor — then I have to do the drag makeup, which is really funny, then eyelashes."

Le is part of an elite group of so-called cosplayers — people who dress up as fictional characters on days other than Halloween — who actually make a living from the sport. She spends all year sewing and crafting her outfits, attending conventions, and hosting events as Vampy, her cosplay stage name. Her knowledge of video games and the characters in the Marvel universe is astounding. This year at Comic-Con she appeared as Jun the Swan, from G Force, and Psylocke, an X-Men mutant.

Meet ComicCon’s Star Cosplayers

ComicCons have grown from a niche “nerdy” hobby to a full-blown industry–San Diego’s famous ComicCon has an estimated three-year impact of $488.4 million on the local economy–and with it, the world of “cosplay costume uk” (short for costume play) has grown as well.

Sweet Charlotte Black Cotton Short Sleeves Womens Lolita Dress

It’s a world that can seem intimidating to an outsider–I mean, I’m pretty nerdy, and I can’t even name half the anime cosplay costumes uk in this story–so I got the inside scoop from some of ComicCon’s most active members.
Victor Gamez, a sort of street-style photographer for the ComicCon set, assures me that cosplay is becoming more inclusive. “Now its not just limited to comic book or anime characters,” he says, “plenty of people this year dressed up as Jesse Pinkman and Walter White from Breaking Bad, a show I feel few people would call nerdy.”

Cool Multicolor Acrylic Spandex Sexy Witch Costumes

Gamez has been shooting at San Diego’s ComicCon for a few years now, and he never fails to find something interesting. This year’s favorites were people whose costumes crossed fandoms. “One cosplayer dressed as Tony Stark, but within the world of Game of Thrones,” he tells me. “He wore Tony’s trademark Iron Man helmet, but rounded out the rest of the ensemble with a broadsword and a House Stark fur cloak.” (“Winter is coming,” even for multi-millionaire superheroes.)

It is possible to attend a Con without dressing up–though you probably won’t have as much fun. Alexandra Sutton, who has been attending various Cons since 2007, says that dressing up enhances the overall experience. “Dressing up as one of your favorite characters is a great conversation starter with people who are into the same things that you are into,” she explains.
She has a series of costumes she uses, from those she puts together from things in her closet to elaborate costumes her grandmother sews for her. There are two common threads: one, they must be blonde like Sutton (she hates wearing wigs); and two, they’re all women she considers role models.
Alexandra Sutton
Sutton definitely prefers the more complicated costumes. “A large part of the cosplay-ing experience for me is designing and making the costume with my grandmother,” she says, “so throwing on jeans and a leather jacket and calling myself Buffy wouldn’t be nearly as fun as figuring out how to make the perfectly flowing, off-the-shoulder, white silk, pleated cape that Emma Frost wears.” (And it is pretty damn perfect.)
Women can also dress as male characters. Called “crossplaying,” Emily of The Stylish Geek says it’s her preferred style of choice lately. “I swear it’s not intentional,” she insists. “I guess there is more room for interpretation when you translate a male costumes to a female figure and I find that cool and challenging.” Her simpler costumes take her a couple of weeks; more complex ones, like her female Darth Vader, can take five to six weeks to put together.
But despite the attention she garners, Emily doesn’t make her costumes to stand out. “I make them because number one, I’m a fan,” she tells me, adding that it’s a great creative outlet and technical challenge. “I’ve always loved art, and studied computer science and math in college, so it’s kind of like those two parts of my brain coming together,” she says.
Still, cosplayers can become famous with the right costume.

Convention Etiquette 101: How to Avoid Crossing the Line at Comic-Con

Of course, sexual harassment at conventions doesn’t just affect women (and men) who experience it. If you’re a guy, seeing a woman you care about as a friend, partner, or colleague get harassed, or hearing about it later, can be incredibly upsetting. But here are six great ways to be an ally to the women who you’ll be hanging out with in San Diego, stopping harassment before it happens, disrupting it when it’s underway, and reporting it afterwards, so Comic-Con can be a fun and safe experience for everyone involved.

Axis Powers Hetalia Spain Suit 65% Cotton 35% Polyester Cosplay Costume

1. Arm yourself with knowledge: San Diego Comic-Con–which takes the time to make clear how it will screen cosplayers’ weapons–doesn’t currently publicize its sexual harassment policy on its website. But there is a policy, which Wired received from convention representatives:
“Attendees must respect commonsense rules for public behavior, personal interaction, common courtesy, and respect for private property. Harassing or offensive behavior will not be tolerated. Comic-Con reserves the right to revoke, without refund, the membership and pass of any attendee not in compliance with this policy. Persons finding themselves in a situation where they feel their safety is at risk or who become aware of an attendee not in compliance with this policy should immediately locate a member of security or a staff member, so that the matter can be handled in an expeditious manner.”
Also, regardless of the con-specific rules, California state law criminalizes both felony sexual assault and misdemeanor sexual battery. And if someone is at Comic-Con in a professional capacity, the fact that they’re at a convention doesn’t mean you can’t report them to their employer if they sexually harass another Comic-Con attendee, as the writer Elise Matheson decided to do recently after she was harassed at a convention. Knowing the law and your options means you’ll be prepared if you or a friend or colleague is harassed, and want to respond.

Axis Powers Seeland Peter Kirkland Cosplay Costume

2. Let people know you’re on their side before you pick up your badge: Novelist John Scalzi, who recently said he’d no longer accept invitations to appear at conventions that don’t have clear, rigorous, well-promoted and well-enforced harassment policies, says one of the best ways to help other people have good convention experiences is to step up before something goes on. “If you’re going into a situation where your female friend might catch some crap, let her know ahead of time that if she needs you, you have her back,” he suggests. “She can determine what she needs and when, and can be in control of any intervention. This doesn’t mean you have to stand around like a bodyguard, just that you’re ready to help out if she needs you.”

Axis Powers Hetalia Honda Kiku Cosplay Costume

3. If you see something, document something: Once you’re on the convention floor, O’Malley says the one exception to the rule about asking before you take pictures or video is when clear and obvious harassment is going down, and you need to collect evidence that could be useful for convention organizers, law enforcement, or someone’s employer later. Having documentation you can go back to is “easier than relying on a quick impression,” he says. “Plus, in a crowded venue like San Diego Comic-Con, it’s easy to get a case of mistaken identity… People can just fade into the teeming masses. A ‘caught in the act’ photo helps with that.” That doesn’t mean you should take it on yourself to dispense vigilante justice and distribute said photos or videos yourself. A great illustration of how those efforts can go wrong fast was the negative response to Adria Richards’ decision to tweet a photo of two men making jokes she found offensive at the open-source conference PyCon. Also, you also don’t want to humiliate someone who has been just been harassed by broadcasting their harassment for the world to see. So if you catch video or photos of something bad going down, offer it up to the person who was harassed as documentation for a potential report.

4. Don’t be afraid to deflect the situation: Scalzi recommends that if you see a friend or coworker in an uncomfortable situation that you “use your friend privileges for good. There have been times where I’ve seen female friends looking trapped by a dude, where I have gone over and said, ‘excuse me, I need to borrow my friend here for just a moment,’ and then gently extricated her to find out if everything was fine. If it is, no harm done and she can go back to her conversation. If it wasn’t then she can use that moment as an escape route, with me backing her up. Likewise there have been times when I have been talking with a female friend and some dude who has been making her uncomfortable comes up; I’ll tell that guy we’re having a private conversation, and that he should move along. This does mean you have to be willing to be seen as a jerk by this guy, but if this guy is making your friend uncomfortable, then that’s probably not going to be a problem.”

5. Offer yourself up as a sidekick, don’t try to be the Superhero Costumes uk: It’s easy to get rage-y, thinking about the prospect of someone you care about being creeped on at a place where they’re supposed to be having a great time. But resist your fantasies of going all Kick-Ass on a harasser. Often, the best, most productive thing you can do is offer to be a sidekick, not a superhero. Listen to your friend while she’s processing her experiences. If she decides to file a report, offer to accompany her while she talks to convention organizers, the cops, or places a call to their harasser’s employer to file a report. Matheson specifically talks about how important it was to have had a friend with her when she reported her harassment. And if your friend has a bad experience talking to convention staff or to anyone else, you can be a valuable witness to that secondary experience. Sure, it means you might miss a screening or a signing. But taking time out to support a friend who’s been harassed is a way to make the convention experience better and safer for everyone in attendance. That’s heroism, even if it doesn’t feel like it.

6. Treat friends you’re meeting at Comic-Con for the first time like they’re your real friends: Gladstone acknowledges that conventions can present special challenges, because they can be meeting places for people who have mostly forged their relationships online. But he says that only increases the obligation to act if someone you care about is being made uncomfortable–or making other people uncomfortable. “Will we stop our ‘friends’ from doing something that they’d regret (as, I assume, we’d do with our real friends)?” he asks. “Will we help our ‘friends’ avoid unwanted attention; will we be there for them as we would for people we’ve known for years?” The answer to both of those questions, obviously, should be yes.

How to Cosplay in College

All cosplayers started somewhere - and that somewhere, for me, happened to be smackdab in the middle of my second year of college. I, as well as many other cosplayers, often face challenges related to this, and as such have scrounged up some tips on how to both succeed in school and on the convention floor as a college cosplayer.
Plan, plan, plan!
It's never to early to start planning when it comes to cosplay. At least 6-8 months before a convention is a safe bet, in my opinion - make sure to pre-register for your convention badge, decide whether or not you want a hotel room, and consider what cosplays you'll want to wear. Consider the weather at the time of the convention, the skill set required for your cosplay costume uk, and how much time you'll have to make/buy your cosplay parts. Make sure that nothing will conflict with your convention - classes, activities, etc. Block that time off and don't let anything interrupt it.
The more you sit down and actually plan out your cosplay work, the more prepared you will be!

Manage your time.
Set aside time for studying and homework, and other time for cosplay work. Whether that's a weekend dedicated to work or an hour every day for two weeks, make sure you manage your time well and don't neglect either your schoolwork or your Spiderman Costume uk, as both are extremely easy to procrastinate. If needed, get your friends/cosplay partners-in-crime to hold you accountable for working on either or both.

Know your budget.
College is expensive and the legend of the Poor College Student is real. Cosplaying is also expensive, factoring in costs for sewing tools, fabric, contact lenses, wigs, shoes, etc. Watch those sales at JoAnn's or your local fabric stores and hop on those to grab all your materials, spread out your purchases so the cost isn't so steep, and reuse, repurpose, recycle materials wherever possible to save your wallet some of that hard-earned green. (Here's a video from a local college cosplayer on the subject!) Budgeting for your cosplay is really important - if your cosplays will be too expensive, consider decreasing the amount of cosplays you will bring, or changing to a cosplay that will be more financially viable.

Cotton White And Black Long Sleeves Punk Lolita Blouse And Skirt

Grow a tough skin.
Let's face the truth - some colleges aren't exactly accepting of things they don't understand. Cosplay would definitely fall into that category of things. Remember that cosplay is for yourself, not for others' approval, and some people are going to judge you and maybe even make fun of you while you're wearing your cosplay. Find friends who love cosplay and are accepting of you. Become comfortable in your own skin and your cosplay so that no one else can hurt you. If someone is harassing you, ignore them and get help if needed. For every one rude ignorant college kid, there's ten kind nerds who will squeal over your costume at the convention and will challenge their negativity with love.
These are just a few things that I have learned in my relatively short time as a college cosplayer. Do you have any tips to share or questions or comments to add? Let us know in the comments or on my cosplay page and I'll do my best to answer!

PAX Australia 2013 review

The inaugural PAX Australia took place over the weekend, and it was one of the most enjoyable and gloriously geeky pop culture celebrations I've ever attended.
Highlights of the festival for me included playing 1987 hit California Games on a Commodore 64, seeing new Magic: The Gathering art unveiled on a big screen to cheers and applause from hundreds of fans, watching an intense battle in a Game of Thrones board game match, flicking through a digital version of Fighting Fantasy title Forest of Doom, playing Metallica Pinball and Saints Row IV pre-release and listening to the director of Dynasty Warriors 8 discuss what it's like working in the contemporary Japanese gaming industry.

Tens of thousands of people braved the Victorian winter weather for the sold-out convention, soaking up three days of game culture heaven. Lining up at the main entrance each morning with the buzzing crowd was a great start to each day. There was a palpable excitement, a general feel-good vibe that carried on throughout each day.
If you weren't enjoying the friendly conversation the person standing next to you was likely to start up, you could take part in an impromptu Magic: The Gathering game on the ground, marvel at some of the cosplayers lining up nearby or hit one of the several beach balls circulating the crowd, garnering huge cheers when they flew over a large schedule sign.

Magical Hiyorin Cosplay Costume

Originating in Seattle, the Penny Arcade Expo events were created by Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik, authors of the Penny Arcade webcomic and general game culture icons. PAX festivals are gaming festivals that are consumer-focused, rather than media or industry focused.
I'm calling PAX a 'festival' for a reason. This is not really an expo as its full name suggests and it's definitely not a trade show. Many of the features that attract gamers to events like E3 and Armageddon exist at PAX too, but this is much more of a gaming festival comparable to a music festival.
Sure, you can try out some upcoming games well before release, sample the latest in gaming headphone and keyboard technology or check out what a tech demo for a yet-to-be-released next-gen console, like you can at E3.

Dolls The First Unit Uniform White Cosplay Costume

But you can also enter giant Pokemon and Magic: The Gathering tournaments, bring your own computer along to giant LAN battles, watch screenings of documentaries on things like Minecraft, play a wide range of current and classic computer and console games, borrow a set of Shogun or Ticket to Ride and play with mates or strangers for hours, or sit down to a good old Dungeons & Dragons adventure.
And there's cheap cosplay costumes uk on display which rivals that at Armageddon, of course.
Almost all of the activities are free once you've paid to enter. Attendees will probably spend money on food or merchandise, but jumping on a console or PC or borrowing a board game, watching a film, attending a panel or musical performance is all free. Considering the festival is open for 14 hours on Friday and Saturday, and eight on the Sunday, hardcore fans can get a lot of game time out of their money.
The panels are a major drawcard for loads of the attendees at PAX. Each of them had huge queues outside. The biggest I attended was the Saturday morning sessiom of Mike and Jerry themselves. Mike drew a Penny Arcade comic strip over the course of an hour, projected live in front of the audience, while both he and Jerry answered questions from fans.
The pair are particularly funny guys that know their audience well and are all about fan service. When a chap from the audience asked Mike to draw a penis on his sister's Nintendo DS, the artist obliged. After a bit of coaxing, both men had a bite of a vegemite sandwich. When a fan suggested Mike add corks to the wide-brim hat of a character in his comic, he diligently did.

Hurricon anime celebration transformed campus

The sounds of karaoke singers, all dressed in anime attire, replaced the UC Sunday humdrum for the second annual Miami Hurricon led by the anime cosplay uk Club.

“There are people who have come as far as Gainesville,” said Ashu Joshi, the president of the Anime Club.

Hurricon celebrated the Japanese cultural art form anime, which has been made popular through graphic novels and television shows. Well-known anime includes Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh. Fans of other cultural staples like BBC’s “Doctor Who” attended as well.

       £58.99

A main experience of Hurricon is “cosplay,” in which attendees dress as their favorite characters and participate in an anime cosplay costumes uk contest. Freshman Matias Stanham was dressed as Ash Ketchum, the main character from the Pokemon series.

“It was the easiest costume to put together and what I could borrow from my friends,” he said. “I went to the Pokemon trivia for the experience.”

Other events included a video game room in the iLounge, where gamers put their Nintendo and PlayStation skills to the test, and various vendors selling original crafts and fan-gear.

Angie Bousalis, the former president of the Anime Club, ran a booth and was excited to see how this year’s executive board carried out the event she helped found.

“They are much more efficient this year and fixed last year’s problems like registration flow,” she said. “And we sold quite a bit last year.”

Last year, 600 participants attended and increased to this year’s estimated 1,000 costumed fans, Joshi said. The preparation for Hurricon begins at the onset of the spring semester and involves finding sponsorships to donate prizes and provide support, finding speakers in the community to talk about trends in anime, and acquiring sources of funding.

Rachelle Mariano, the club’s treasurer, prepared the budget and was grateful for the help that the Student Activity Fee Allocation Committee (SAFAC) and Florida Supercon gave.
SOURCE:http://www.themiamihurricane.com

“We received over $1,000 from SAFAC, which helped us,” Mariano said. “And Florida Supercon has a been a major support.”

Mariano believes that Hurricon’s appeal is that it is an entirely student-run event and for no profit.

“We put our heart and soul into it,” she said.
